Child Online Protection (COP)

Child Online Protection

Under the Global Cyber-security Agenda (GCA) umbrella, we have been working with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to develop and launched the Child Online Protection (COP) Initiative. The COP Initiative has been established as an international collaborative network for action to promote the online protection of children and young people worldwide by providing guidance on safe online behaviour in conjunction with other UN agencies and partners.

This work has generated guidelines for Policy Makers, Educators-Parent, Children and the industry in order to establish the foundations for a safe and secure cyber-world for future generations

We have recently completed an assignment to develop a national level plan for the implementation of the COP Guidelines that included the:

?      Identification of the key issues and risks

?      Identification of the critical success factors

?      Assessment of the current environment and identify gaps

?      Development of a framework for a national roadmap for COP implementation

?      Identification of the stages and activities for the implementation Programme
