Initial Strategic Assessment


As part of our initial work to understand your strategic context, we will carry out an assessment of the readiness and capability of the organisation to undertake and implement the Strategic and Operational Excellence Model – this will help to pinpoint where the risks are likely to be.  These risks may change with time and the risk management process may require later reassessments. The following categories reflect areas of risk that indicate an organisation’s readiness for implementing change:

    
  • Clarity of the change vision
  • Organisation willingness, capability and capacity to deliver this change
  • Change leadership
  • Clarity about the governance structure and roles and responsibilities
  • Stakeholder management plans and actions
  • Communication strategy and plan
  • Ability to deliver business benefits
  • Clear understanding of the high level plan and interdependencies to deliver the change programme
  • Understanding of the risks and a structured risk and issue management process 
  • Development of the organisation culture to deliver citizen focused policing. 

 We will use this assessment approach regularly to identify the gaps between the current situation and that which we aspire to.
