Diploma - Public Service Leadership  

 

The current economic situation and development in public policy is putting increasing pressures on public services to develop different approaches to leadership and management.  This programme aims to contribute to overall strategic delivery of public services and develop a new generation of public service leaders equipped with the skills needed to make a difference.


The Diploma in Public Service Leadership was designed in partnership with public sector organisations and is accredited and awarded by Chartered Management Institute (CMI). It is aimed at developing professional team leaders and managers within the public and voluntary sectors and encouraging them to work more collaboratively within and across organisations.


The programme provides you with new perspectives on public service delivery, develops your leadership skills to provide better services and facilitates sharing of best practice. The programme will bring out the power and authority that every director should possess and give you confidence and management competencies that public sector director demands.

 

The qualification consists of eight units:

  2. Planning the deliver of public service projects
  3. Managing change in the delivery of public services
  4. Leading and achieving service performance
  5. Planning to meet public services customer requirements
  6. Managing performance in the delivery of public services
  7. Contributing to the financial efficiency in public services
  8. The collaborative public services project.


Entry Requirements                                                                                    

It is expected that you already be of graduate calibre to commence this programme. The course director will also take into account your management experience.
